Data Deletion Request

Last Updated: August 23, 2026

1. Your Right to Deletion

You can ask us to delete the personal information Nerd Motive holds about you. This page explains how to make that request, what we delete, what we are required to keep, and how long the process takes.

This page supplements our Privacy Policy. Where the two describe the same right, the Privacy Policy governs.

2. How to Request Deletion

2.1 By Email

Email privacy@nerdmotive.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request.” So we can locate your records and confirm the request is yours, please include:

  • The email address associated with your account or inquiry.
  • The dealership or business name, if the data relates to one.
  • Whether you want everything deleted, or only a specific item (for example, a lead you submitted through a vehicle listing).

We acknowledge every request in writing. If we cannot match your request to any record we hold, we will tell you that instead of leaving it unanswered.

2.2 Through Facebook

If you connected to Nerd Motive through a Facebook integration, you can remove our app from your Facebook account: go to Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites, select Nerd Motive, and choose Remove. Facebook then notifies us automatically.

When that notification reaches us, we log the request and issue a confirmation code. You can check the state of the request at any time on our deletion status page using that code.

3. What We Delete

Depending on how you interacted with us, a deletion request covers:

  • Account information: name, email address, phone number, and profile settings.
  • Lead and inquiry data: the contact details and message you submitted through a vehicle listing or contact form.
  • Communications: correspondence you sent to our support or sales team.
  • Facebook-linked identifiers: any identifier we received from a Facebook integration and the records keyed to it.

4. What We Cannot Delete

Some information stays with us after a deletion request, and we would rather say so plainly than promise otherwise:

  • Records we are required to keep. Transaction and billing records retained for tax, accounting, or other legal obligations.
  • Data a dealership controls. If you submitted a lead to a dealership through our platform, that dealership received your information directly and holds its own copy in its CRM. Deleting our copy does not delete theirs. Contact the dealership to have their record removed.
  • Vehicle inventory data. Listings, pricing, and vehicle specifications are business records supplied by dealerships. They are not personal information and are not covered by this process.
  • Aggregated data. Statistics that no longer identify you and cannot be traced back to you.

5. How Long It Takes

  • Acknowledgement: within 5 business days of receiving your request.
  • Facebook-linked data: deleted within 30 days of the request.
  • Account and all other personal information: deleted or anonymized within 90 days, consistent with the retention section of our Privacy Policy.
  • Backups: copies held in routine backups are removed as those backups age out of rotation.

6. Checking on a Request

Requests that arrive through Facebook come with a confirmation code you can look up on the status page. For requests made by email, reply to the acknowledgement we sent you and we will tell you where it stands.
